Dr. Michele Sonsino opened her eye care practice cold in 2006 with no patients, one employee, and a dream to create the city's finest eye care boutique. Within one year, Nashville responded and business boomed.  She was quickly expanding from one examination lane to three, hiring three additional doctors (including her husband, who was previously at Vanderbilt), and a staff of eleven highly-trained opticians, eye technicians, and assistants. She expanded Optique further in 2015 by moving to the present location with double the square footage and five examination lanes, adding a keratoconus and dry eye center.

She is experienced in comprehensive eye care, cataract evaluation, and specialty contact lenses, including options for astigmatism and "mature" eyes.  She has earned an outstanding reputation for her emotional intelligence and has been named in the Best Optometrist category by the readers' poll of the Nashville Scene every year since 2020."

Dr. Michele Sonsino was born in Tokyo, Japan, the daughter of an Air Force officer and his wife. She studied biology and communications at the University of Illinois and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. While in optometry school, Dr. Sonsino also pursued her clinical education at the University of Chicago and the Veterans Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

She enjoys tennis, walking her two dogs and traveling the globe to find trendy new frame styles for her patients.
