Dr. Julie Lafreniere
Dr. Julie Lafreniere was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Growing up in Canada, she became fluent in both French and English. She graduated from the University of Manitoba, where she served as the University’s women’s soccer team captain and represented Team Canada in the World University Games.
Dr. Julie trained at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and went on to complete a Primary Care residency at Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis. She then earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry and practiced in Kansas City for five years. She participated in mission trips to Ecuador and Colombia to provide eye care to those in need.
After residency, fellowship, and work experience, she completed further training in the sub-specialty of dry eye with top practitioners in the country. Dr. Julie brings this incredible expertise to the Optique team in Nashville and Franklin. She enjoys traveling, competitive running, hiking, and learning about food, music, and culture.
